Who can play

Moneywell Town is built for 15 to 18 year olds, and anyone 15 or over can play. If you are under 15, please do not use it. Before play we ask for your date of birth and check it on your device; we do not keep it.

The same safety rules apply to every player, whatever their age.

Free to play

The game is free. There is no account, no real-money purchase and no advertising. Coins, balances, payslips and bank accounts in the game are simulated, not real money, and cannot be exchanged for anything.

Some buildings in town may one day carry the name of an organisation that funds the game. A funder never gets player data, never places a product in the game and never changes an answer.

Not financial advice

Moneywell Town explains how money works in the UK. It does not recommend products and does not tell you what to do with your own money. Lessons are general and simplified, and real rules, rates and thresholds change.

Before a real decision about your money, speak to a trusted adult or a free, impartial service such as MoneyHelper (opens in a new tab).

Skipper is an AI

Skipper, the contact on the in-game phone, runs on Anthropic’s Claude. It can make mistakes, misunderstand you or be unavailable. When it is offline, the phone gives scripted replies instead.

Do not share personal details with Skipper: your full name, school, address, phone number, card or bank details, passwords or photos. The game tries to catch and hold these back, but checks can miss things.

Skipper is not a person, a counsellor or an emergency service. If you are worried about your safety or someone else’s, speak to an adult you trust, contact Childline (opens in a new tab) on 0800 1111, or call 999 in an emergency.

Using it fairly

Please do not:

• try to make Skipper produce harmful, hateful, sexual or illegal content, or get around its safety rules;
• send automated or bulk requests to Skipper, or use it for anything other than the game;
• try to break, overload or get into the game, the website or the systems behind them;
• use the game to bully, threaten or scam anyone.

We may limit or block access, including to Skipper, if the service is being misused.

Our content

The game, its lessons, questions, art and code belong to Vasmio Limited or the people who licensed them to us. You are welcome to play, learn from it and share links to it. Please do not copy or sell it, or present it as your own.

Links to other organisations open their own websites. Their own terms and privacy rules apply, and we are not responsible for what they say.

Changes to the game and these terms

Moneywell Town is new and still changing. We may add, change or remove parts of it, or pause it, at any time. Your save lives in your browser, so it is lost if you clear this site’s data, and we cannot recover it.

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page.

Our responsibility

We work hard to keep the lessons accurate and the game safe, but we cannot promise it will always be correct, complete or available. We are not responsible for decisions you make about your own money based on the game or Skipper.

Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights, or any responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
